So, thank you Megan for helping me be his voice. For being his voice when I couldn’t because I was so frustrated and emotional and upset.
Megan is an outstanding nurse. She takes care of my baby as if he were her own. She goes out of her way to make sure he is taken care of. She makes this feel like a home away from home. She has been there for most of my babies' rough patches. She backs me up and gets him what he needs when he needs it. I appreciate everything they have done for him.
This unit is amazing! On a day I won’t forget, my son had surgery and the aftermath of it was a disaster. They brought him up to D6W a mess and Megan was there to help clean him up. She fought like a momma bear after I expressed my concerns to her about my baby bleeding the way he was. After the surgeon just in a way dismissed it, she disagreed and didn’t leave my baby's side. I knew he was in good hands with the D6W, they did everything they could and needed the surgeon to stop the bleeding and she was there to get them to do their job. I appreciate everything she has done for my baby.
She knew as well as I knew that we needed to figure out how to get it to stop. She was there the entire day by his and my side. She told the surgeon his dressing needed to be changed and they needed to figure out how to stop the bleeding from his line; the surgeon said it wasn’t bad enough to need a dressing change and Megan argued otherwise. I’m glad she did. He ended up needing a blood transfusion and things got ugly quickly which is what we were trying to prevent the entire day. So, thank you Megan for helping me be his voice. For being his voice when I couldn’t because I was so frustrated and emotional and upset. She made sure to fight. I can’t thank you enough.
