Katie is one of the best RNs/ CRNAs that I have ever met and/or worked with over the years. She, out of all the nurses I know, deserves this award. As CRNAs, I don’t think they get the recognition that other departments get.

I was scheduled to have my first colonoscopy here at SCB (I usually went to Sauk over the years). Because I work here, I was hoping for a female CRNA and requested Katie. Things were very busy that day but she checked on me when I first got here but then wasn’t able to be my CRNA. Another nurse was and she was great too.

But later, before I left, Katie came in and apologized for being tied up with another case and just made sure everything was okay before I went home. She was truly concerned.

I also work with her and she is so calm and caring with her patients. She makes them feel important and is always very kind and calming. I have never seen her lose it.

Her compassion for their patients shows with every single interaction I’ve seen over all the years I’ve worked with her.

She is such a calming presence in a painful time (Labor) and she is very efficient. I really think she deserves this award and she is a huge asset to St. Clare Hospital. Thanks, Katie, for all you do!
