We would like to thank Charles for giving us comfort and reassurance in her care here during the time she was his patient.
Where do we begin to thank Charles? I will start by saying that my mother had several issues when coming into the ICU. One being a rejection of her first chemo treatment that burned her mouth, throat, and esophagus severely. With all that taking her voice and ability to eat or drink - she managed to say, "I want to take him home with me." That was her way of saying he cared for her as her family had.

His quiet, steady presence around our mother as he organized labeled, assisted, and made important decisions that ultimately in the big picture helped save her life collectively was a huge comfort. He spoke to her with respect and explained what was happening when we and my mom weren't sure. His knowledge was apparent as he glided in and out of the dark room at night easy not to disturb Mom or one of her 5 children who never left her alone during her stay.

When she came to the ICU she had a multitude of illnesses that limited her ability - Parkinson's, Stage 4 cancer, a-fib, kidney stones, sepsis, and low BP. It was a very scary time. We would like to thank Charles for giving us comfort and reassurance in her care here during the time she was his patient. We hope this award blesses him. We are very thankful for him blessing our family. He left Mom saying, "Ms. G, it has been a pleasure caring for you. I will be back in 3 days but I sure hope you aren't here." There are so many other great things we could say about Charles.
