Silver Cross can be proud to have Mary Carroll to call one of their own.

I would like to thank my nurse Mary Carroll B. She is a nurse on the first-floor heart cardiac floor with Dr. P and Dr. Y. At a time of uncertainty, pain, and uneasiness, Mary Caroll was always a delight.

She would enter my room with a sweet smile and an air of confidence. She would answer all my questions that came with staying on the cardiac floor for 10 days. With the endless tests and long days of not knowing what was ahead of me, she gave me the compassion that was needed knowing that I would have open heart double bypass surgery with Dr. P. Mary Caroll would spend time with me and my family to reassure us in what the next days would encounter. Mary Caroll made sure I had the right medicine and explained to me what I was on and what the medicine was for. She would take time out of her schedule to get me out of bed and walk. She made it her mission to see that I was going to be sent home and that I reached all my benchmarks after surgery.

My family was also so appreciative of her because she made sure to explain what open-heart surgery afterward would look like in my room. She explained every piece of equipment I was on. She explained how the first day would be overwhelming with the machines and breathing tube I would be on. She assured us that the next day would get better and then the next when there would be fewer and fewer machines. I was lucky to have been assigned to Mary Carroll as my nurse. I was blessed to have such a compassionate and professional nurse during my surgery at Silver Cross.

Silver Cross can be proud to have Mary Carroll to call one of their own. She gave me comfort and advice each day. My family and I would like to thank Mary Caroll. My thanks to all the staff and doctors I had during my stay. I could not have asked for a better cardiac team at Silver Cross. Even though I was admitted to the emergency room, I am lucky that I ended up on the first floor under Dr. P, Dr. Y, and the cardiac team to help me recover and go on living life. Thank you for restoring my health.
