Kristin helped articulate our feelings, wants, and concerns to our doctor and we had a plan.

Kristin settled us in L&D when we came for our first baby, only having an hour or two she made us feel so safe and comfortable. The staff was so great but we felt like Kristin was here just for us and we were sad to see her go. As she left, she told us she'd be here the next morning and my wife lit up with so much joy knowing that she'd be back.

From 7 am to 7 pm the next day she was there, attentive, sweet, knowledgeable, and friendly, encouraging my wife through her labor. We stalled around 5 pm and 6 cm and our doctor brought up the possibility of a C-section, throwing our birth plan and my wife into a little bit of chaos. Kristin knew and comforted her, calming her and talking about our needs and wants while also being very informative about our next steps.

Without hesitation, she helped articulate our feelings, wants, and concerns to our doctor and we had a plan. To hope for success, to work with our doctor and night nurse to hopefully achieve a vaginal birth and avoid a C-section. When she left, I was slightly emotional at her compassion, care, and dedication to us as new parents. Just one family, out of nowhere, and it felt like we were lifelong friends.

We delivered after 18 minutes of pushing at 8:58 p.m. So thankful our delivery nurse asked, "Can I please let Kristin know, she will be so happy for you." YES! Without her, it was a great experience at BCH. With her, it was unforgettable and perfect.
