Kedra provides snacks which she buys herself every study day to make staff feel welcome and comfortable.
Kedra has shown dedication to the education and upskilling of staff from the women's team for a number of years. She is quiet and unassuming but she is very hard-working and knowledgeable. I had the pleasure of attending 2 of Kedra's study days recently and how she supports staff helping them gain skills and competence in a non-challenging and supportive learning environment is really enabling staff to feel safe to address their gaps and improve their skills and ultimately provide better and safer care for women and babies.

Kedra provides snacks which she buys herself every study day to make staff feel welcome and comfortable. She has vast experience in midwifery and nursing which she shares by talking about her own clinical experiences making learning interesting and relevant. Kedra often comes to work early so she can meet with staff finishing the night shift; she chooses to do this, never mentions it much, and never asks for her time back. She teaches numerous courses and is supporting Sidra Medicine towards achieving BFHI baby-friendly hospital initiative status.

Kedra is a role model in the team and always maintains a professional demeanor. She is punctual and shows respect to her team members and manager. She was hand-selected by the CNO to represent Sidra at the Arab Nurses Conference scientific planning committee to which she contributed greatly with her ability to work with colleagues from all cultures and backgrounds. Across women's services, Kedra supports students, new hires staff rotating to new areas, and nurse residents. She teaches breastfeeding courses, safe sleep courses, WEDD days, perineal suturing, basic life support, and neonatal resuscitation to name a few. She wants to deliver quality training to ensure the staff are well equipped to deliver safe and effective care. She has worked diligently in the background at Sidra Medicine for over 6 years and I truly feel she deserves some recognition.
