I had a hernia repair and I was the last surgery for the surgeon. I had a reaction of some variety causing my O2 stats to be 90 or less. With the extra time in recovery, I became the only patient in this recovery area, and Kristian stayed with me long after his shift was over. Even when the oncoming nurse arrived, he stayed with me through all the O2 issues, the chest x-rays, keeping the surgeon informed, and went way beyond the scope and time requirements. I was in the recovery area for over 5 hours before being moved up to a floor. Additionally, he asked about my wife, and he went out into the waiting area and found her. She was the only one in the waiting area and was getting more worried and nervous as time went on. Once he found her, he brought her back to the recovery area to be with me. Kristian, from my point of view, went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure that I was being well taken care of and stayed with me until I was moved to a room.
