Today my aunt is recovered, and I know for a fact Rebekah had so much to do with this.

In May, my aunt arrived at the ER at Atrium Floyd Medical Center. Soon after she arrived, she ended up in the ICU within no time for severe liver failure. For us as a family and for my aunt, it was the worst day, she had ever gone through not knowing what was going to happen and going through the worst pain she had ever felt.

That is when Rebekah walked into our ICU room. From the very beginning, she showed compassion, love, understanding, and comfort to not only our family but most importantly my aunt. She was so professional and educated on everything that was going on. She spoke to her softly, made sure she was warm, made sure she had plenty of water, kept her clean at all times, and was constantly checking on us and communicating with us what exactly was happening and what to expect.

When we were having a hard time understanding what was going on, Rebekah comforted us. I remember one of the worst days my aunt was having, and Rebekah came in on a day when she wasn't even working to check on her. She came to cheer her improvement and braided her hair, which meant so much to us. I am so happy to see that there are still wonderful people like this in this world who truly care about others like this.

My aunt was a stranger to Rebekah, and she went above and beyond. This is the exact reason why I know in my heart that Rebekah deserves this DAISY Award. And will forever be in our family's hearts. Today my aunt is recovered, and I know for a fact Rebekah had so much to do with this.
