I was prepared to endure one of the most difficult days of my life as I was scheduled to have a D & C procedure for my missed miscarriage. This was my first pregnancy, and the emotional pain I felt was unfathomable. Upon entering the outpatient surgical center, I met Nurse Keli, who performed my pre-op duties. Nurse Keli sat with me, cried with me, and shared her own experiences with child loss. She walked me through every step of the D & C procedure, what to expect, and how to heal both physically and emotionally. Before entering the hospital, I felt so alone, but Nurse Keli assured me there was a whole community of support there for me, especially that day. My husband and I are so grateful for her care and attention to our situation, and we cannot thank her enough for everything she did for us. Nurse Keli also went above and beyond and called me twice post-procedure to check in and make sure I was doing okay. She is truly the person I needed that day, and I am so thankful.
