I had a C-section, and immediately following I had to have two bowel resections. I was initially on the 4th floor with my baby and husband. My heart rate was super high the night after my surgeries, so I got moved to the ICU so they could keep a closer watch on me. It was later determined I would go to the 3rd floor, where I met Megan, who turned out to be the best nurse I have ever had. She always made me feel super important while taking care of other patients, and she treated me like an old friend or a member of her family. In a time when I was hurting and sometimes lonely when I couldn't see my baby or husband, she was there with me and for me. By the time we got to leave the hospital, I felt like I had gained a friend for the rest of my life. I can't describe how much it meant to me that she was there for me when I needed her. I wish every nurse was as kind and big-hearted as Megan.
