Emily was a loving, caring, concerned advocate for my daughter.
My daughter had surgery and had the most amazing and attentive nurse while in PACU. Emily took extraordinary care of my daughter while she was waking up from her Posterior Spinal Fusion. My daughter remembers her gently reminding her to not touch her eyes and going out of her way to help relieve the itchiness by gently rubbing them with a tissue to relieve the itches. My daughter also remembers Emily helping her to gently scratch her nose when it was itching as well. Her favorite thing that Emily did was make her a “banana” slushie to help alleviate her sore throat. While my daughter was coming out of the anesthesia, she entertained us all, and she was adamant that Emily was the best PACU nurse she has had, as this was her most memorable and best “wake up” to date, which says a lot, considering her history of multiple surgeries. Being a PACU nurse is a very important job and one that is not noticed much as they are the forgotten nurses. Not many people remember the nurse who wakes you up from the forgetful sleep after anesthesia. She was a loving, caring, concerned advocate for my daughter. She made sure her father and I were taken care of as well while we waited for a room to become available. Emily, thank you from the bottom of my daughter and I’s heart! You are a phenomenal nurse, a loving human, and a kindhearted soul. We were blessed to be lucky enough to have you as her “wake-up” nurse!
