Shereen radiates compassion; she consistently uses her heart in decision-making as a Nurse and Charge Nurse. She takes pride in her profession and encourages others to do the same. She always displays patience and integrity in caring for patients, their families, and her fellow team members. And Shereen exemplifies all this in her daily work. One of her teammates wrote to Shereen this thank you card: "Thank You, for always being willing to have your coworkers’ back. You are a true example of a team player!! I appreciate you!" In this case, Shereen's compassion precedes her, and she is a go-to resource for staff.

I have seen Shereen advocating for patients to get the care they need and committing to doing what's right, even when it's not the most convenient thing. As a passionate advocate, she's also able to maintain a professional and kind demeanor that allows her to be very approachable to others collaborating on an issue. Shereen also identifies a possible problem a patient might face and provides them with the necessary resources. Here is one recognition card for Shereen by one of the teammates:

"Shereen, thank you so much for your excellent charge nurse leadership this morning in navigating a last-minute, urgent dialysis treatment that was complicated due to patient room availability. I am impressed with your quick thinking, strong communication, clinical assessment, and ability to keep our patients at the forefront of your mind. I am so appreciative of you!"

Again, I think it's a beautiful description written by one of her coworkers about Shereen's presence and commitment to consistently showing up and showing up with kindness: "Thank you for ALWAYS being kind and positive."
