In May 2023, my husband was in the bathroom and passed out. He didn’t fall, but we couldn’t wake him up. Paramedics transported him to Spring Valley Hospital ER. When he was moved to a room we were treated to a most delightful nurse! Nene was fabulous and took such good care of D. She was careful when she had to move him for any reason; she treated him with dignity, and she explained things when he asked questions. She also took the time to explain to me what “syncope” is, and I really appreciate her professional kindness. The whole time we were there, Nene was pleasant and welcoming. She always greeted us when she came into D’s room. Even if he needed a bedpan or asked to be scooted up in his bed, she replied with a smile, a positive attitude, and prompt help. What an amazing lady! We were so impressed with Nene.

I spoke with the nursing supervisor about what an excellent nurse she was. The supervisor told me about the DAISY Award and gave me this pamphlet and my husband and I are delighted to thank Nene for all she did for us during D’s stay at Spring Valley Hospital by nominating her without reservation for the DAISY Award. If ever a nurse deserved it, Nene does! Thank you so much for your kind consideration of our heartfelt recommendation.
