She was very caring and sensitive with my autistic, non-verbal son. She would talk softly to him and warn him on what she was doing first before touching arm, etc. She would crack jokes to make us laugh. My son doesn't take to many people with his autism. He likes to isolate himself and only takes to a few people, but with Cassidy, he would listen to what she would say and lean in for her, and you could see how much he liked and cared for her in his eyes, even when she would have to do vitals, and he would give her the stink eye you could see how much he loved having her around. She was very understanding of his sensory issues and always found a way to make him comfortable. Cassidy always asked his nana and me if we needed anything and would get us anything we needed without hesitation. Cassidy is amazingly respectful, trustworthy, compassionate, patient-centered, caring, committed, and much more. She deserves this award.
