It’s not one specific thing that Tiffany has done that prompted me to nominate her for The DAISY Award, it’s many visits here to IUH and her being my nurse. She is charge nurse a lot so to get her as my nurse can be rare. Tiffany takes it upon herself to get to know and remember the patients she takes care of. She never fails to amaze me. When I ask for things to be communicated to my doctor, she has already done so because she remembers from last time. She has never left me waiting for anything when I have paged. It doesn’t matter if it’s her 2nd or 4th day working, she is always positive and friendly. She knows I have things that give me anxiety and with me saying anything, without skipping a beat, she will do whatever is in her power to ease or prevent my anxiety altogether. Anytime I see her at shift change, I automatically relax. She is not only a great nurse to her patients, she is a great charge nurse to the other staff members. She is a great role model, and she will advocate on my behalf which is great for my anxiety. IUH is lucky to have a nurse as skilled as Tiffany is. If we had more nurses like her, there would be no need to have a patient relations department. She goes out of her way for anyone, even if it’s not her patient. If she sees a need, she takes care of that need. I have never seen her pass a patient needs to someone else, even if it’s not her patient to begin with. If anyone, anyone, deserves to be recognized for The DAISY Award, it is Tiffany. I will continue to nominate her each time I have a stay at IUH. She is the reason I always want to be on the 4th floor.
