I cannot express enough gratitude toward Rory and everything he did for my mom and family. Rory provided the type of care I only hope all families get when going through the unknown. He provided care with a strong focus on her even when the test results revealed nothing we wanted to hear. When the numerous test results came back, he took the time to explain what each test meant and what the next steps would be. He explained in depth the medical terms that made no sense to us but were common knowledge to him without making us feel less than him. He was honest, compassionate, and empathetic toward my family, my mom, and me. He was committed to keeping her the most comfortable as possible as we sat by her side. The knowledge he shared and portrayed and the ethical standards he demonstrated proved to me that my mom had the best care in her final hours. I felt he truly cared and cares for the patients he sees daily. He is an Extraordinary Nurse. Given our circumstances, I feel Rory made the situation the best that it could be. I am so grateful he was the nurse on night shift that night. It is hard to put into words how much Rory meant to my family and me that night. One thing is for sure - Rory is undeniably a DAISY Nurse.
