Our son had to be transported via ambulance from Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth to the Children's Hospital in Peoria. He was a little nervous when he found out Mom and Dad were not going to be able to go with him. Collin was with him every step of the way, assuring him that everything would be fine and when we met up with him in Peoria, he talked about how much fun they had. Once he got settled in Peoria, J had to have another IV, and Collin made the whole process as quick and painless as possible, answered all of J's questions, and explained everything along the way.

During the first night of his hospital stay, J accidentally pulled out one of his IVs, and one of the night nurses came in and tried to restart it without success, which was extremely painful and stressful for him. Bright and early the next morning, Collin came back in and restarted it, no problem. He even brought in the ultrasound machine so he could make the process as easy as possible.

We want to recognize Collin because, in a very scary and unexpected situation, he made our son feel comfortable, heard, and much less scared. Sometimes, you meet people in life who you feel are doing EXACTLY what they were meant or called to do, and Collin is definitely one of those people.
