We had a patient on our unit for about a month.  The patient is very kind and suffering from a horrible diagnosis. The patient is a single mother, and every decision she makes centers around her children.  This one particular day, the patient received more bad news.  Breeanna asked the patient, how could she help.  The patient went on to explain that school is coming up and wishes she could be with her children to get their school supplies. So…Breaanna did just that!!!  With the help of her peers, she went above and beyond to purchase school supplies for all her patient's children, including backpacks, notebooks, pens, the whole nine yards. She brought them to the patient the weekend before school started and they were able to come and see their mom give them their school supplies.

The empathy and pure display of compassion are beyond admirable! I could not be more proud to have her on my team and for her to be a part of the Saint Luke’s family!

During my 5-day stay, recovering from gallbladder surgery. I encountered Breeanna, who demonstrated a level of care to me that caught both the attention of my wife and I.  Breeanna spoke of her passion for this profession and her desire and personal commitment to want to help her patients get back on the road to recovery.  She made it her calling, not just her job, and it showed each time she entered my room to provide any level of care or service I needed. 

Breeanna has a great attitude and a level of compassion that I have rarely seen.
