We are so appreciative and grateful to have had Angie as a nurse, educator, advocate, and, most importantly, an extraordinary human being.
Angie is amazing. She is a great educator and compassionate, exceptional advocate for her patients. Angie took the time, effort, and great patience to explain, educate, and demonstrate all the things my mom needed to (but didn’t want to) do. i.e., incentive spirometer… she explained how to blow out and in with easy-to-understand examples so my mom could comprehend (blowing out 71 candles and sucking through a straw). She took the time to explain the importance of using an incentive spirometer and why it was imperative for her recovery. i.e., sitting in the chair and walking around the unit… even when my mom c/o pain, Angie was quick to validate mom’s concerns with empathy but also was firm in challenging mom to fight through the pain as getting up and moving was important. She was one of the few staff to really challenge and push my mom to do the things she didn’t want to but needed to do. Angie also shared some helpful tips with things mom was struggling with and made sure mom understood. As a nurse, a family member, and a visitor of the patient, I too, feel the genuine and sincere heart Angie has when caring for her patient. We are so appreciative and grateful to have had Angie as a nurse, educator, advocate, and, most importantly, an extraordinary human being. Thank you, Angie… for caring, for being kind, and for being my mom’s Extraordinary Nurse.
