This nurse is EXCEPTIONAL! I have had my fair share of nurses over the years, and truly Eli Jack is above the rest. I landed myself in the ED unexpectedly, only to find out I needed to have emergency surgery with a nearly week-long hospital stay. To say my week was not going to go as planned is an understatement. Eli Jack was working with me on my first day post-op and fortunately for me, for a few days after that. Although the hospital was the LAST place I wanted or expected to be, he was a bright light. What stood out to me about him is how much he truly cared! I was sitting there with an uncomfortable NGT for a few days and I swear he was more excited when we got to get that thing out than me (and that's saying a lot, those things are rough...!). He was kind to my family and to me in a way that was so special and beyond the call of duty. Attentive to all my needs and always with a kind, understanding smile and demeanor. When he would leave his shift for the day he would share with me when he felt like he could go home to rest because of my improvements -- true empathy that is unparalleled! I also happen to work at UCLA, and I have to say, not only as a patient but as a medical provider working with nurses frequently, he is unmatched. I can't think of a better person to be recognized by the DAISY Award, because I am more than confident while he made me feel special, I am POSITIVE he makes ALL his patients feel special and cared for.

The overall experience was exceptional. Eli took it to the next level. I’m a past chair of a large hospital chain and wish every patient got the level of care my daughter received. Best of class!!!!!
