Laura shows compassion to all patients and her staff. She is involved in many hospital committees, including leading IPC.
Laura Frashour goes above and beyond for her team. She is a manager that I hope to become one day. She works endless hours and comes into the hospital to meet with her night shift a few times a week. She comes in around 5:30 am and still stays until 1600. Her staff appreciate her leadership and her willingness to get dirty with them. I have gone to codes on 5G and who is it that is doing chest compressions? Yes, Laura is there. She is saving a patient on her unit as her team is getting the code cart. She shows compassion to all patients and her staff. She is involved in many hospital committees, including leading IPC. Many of her staff who have transferred down to my unit have given her praise about how it takes time to support them on and off the floor. When they come to work in my unit, they always tell me that they are sad to be leaving Laura because she is an amazing manager. Laura also advocated for patient safety and the needs of her nurses like no other manager.
She is also available to all PPMC leadership (all hours of the day) anytime they may need her for concerns. When a unit manager may not be available for safety huddle, who is it that always reports out for them, "This is Laura reporting for 5G, 5R, 4L, 4G, and 4K." Laura has also rallied many of us leaders to work above our FTE during the Strike. She has already signed up to work 12 hours shifts Monday-Thursday on her floor and a 12-hour shift Friday night, being 6 months pregnant. If this does not inspire you, I am not sure what will.
Mentioned above is just the beginning of how Laura supports Providence and lives their mission. She is the manager that I hope we can all be someday, and I am so glad she is here as a team member at PPMC.
