Julie noticed there was way too much fluid coming up out of my baby and took all, if not an excessive number of steps, to get all the right people to care for him immediately.
I want to start by saying that if it had not been for Julie, my experience here would have been a nightmare, to say the least. As I sit in the surgical waiting room, I can’t help but be full of gratitude, instead of overwhelmed with sadness. Solely because of her specific care and attentiveness for my son and me in recovery, she may very well have saved his life. She kept us calm and kept the room light for the entire duration of our stay. All the while she was making sure that my baby was getting thoroughly looked at instead of sending us upstairs when the timer ran out like we were just another number.

Julie noticed there was way too much fluid coming up out of my baby and took all, if not an excessive number of steps, to get all the right people to care for him immediately. Not only did her efforts in my eyes save his life she saved my family’s. Julie had her own family to go home to, which she lightly joked about but instead stayed hours past her shift to make sure she stayed with us to the very end of the day. Even though that day ended with my son in NICU and myself checked into a baby-less room out of my mind worried, I was grateful. Grateful for Julie who is basically an angel on earth. I owe her my life and I’m sure I’m not the first. We thank you for simply being you.
