I would like to take the opportunity to nominate Rhonda Hunt (Diabetes Educator) for a DAISY Award. Rhonda truly goes above and beyond for her patients. She is very knowledgeable and provides diabetes education to a multitude of patients, not just in the hospital but in the community as well. She takes as much individualized time as needed to educate them on how to care for themselves and makes sure they have all the tools necessary for success. She provides them with support as well. Educating the patient and their families. I have often known Rhonda to take calls from patients who needed extra support after hours and over the weekends. Rhonda has the biggest heart of anyone I know. She has purchased groceries so that patients can eat healthier and be successful with their diabetes management. To say she goes above and beyond is an understatement. Rhonda is equally dedicated to our cardiopulmonary patients. I don’t know what our hospital or community would do without her.
