The patient stated, “Monica was always checking in with me, more than normal; she did not let my IV machine go off and stay beeping; she always asked if I needed anything, but the most important part is that she noticed the swelling on my arm and that it had gotten worse from the morning time. She alerted the doctors about getting me a CT scan, and if she didn’t get a response in 30 minutes, she would resend the message until she got an answer. She was my nurse the next morning and was already on the ball, messaging the doctor to get things approved for me to transfer to another facility. She made sure that when I was getting transferred, they took care of me- she was very concerned.”

This patient was transferred to Banner Thunderbird and had surgery two days later due to swelling in both arms. While he was at Thunderbird, he wished that Monica was still his nurse. He was very grateful for her compassion.
