My husband had emergency surgery on Sunday and was recovering until Wednesday. He developed pneumonia and a very rapid heart rate. Norie was on top of all these issues and was so kind to my husband and me to explain why he needed oxygen and the need to start on IV medication to control the heart rate. The IV medication dictated the move to 2W. Norie was proactive in getting orders from the doctor, and my husband was moved to 2W. Norie stayed with us and made sure we knew who his nurse and CNA would be. Norie treated my husband as if he was her only patient. As a retired CCRN, I was amazed at her poise and caring attitude. The nursing students could learn much from an RN like Norie!
