Helena posted condolences that were heartwarming on the funeral home site (acknowledging the outpouring of love of wife and family, lighting a candle, and offering prayers).
Helena is a Critical Care RN who was helping on a medical-surgical unit. When providing care to a patient, her assessment indicated advanced care was needed. Helena initiated the plan to have the patient transferred to the Critical Care Unit. The wife of the patient wrote:
“Helena immediately knew he needed to be in CCU and she called her supervisor.” The patient was cared for in the CCU but sadly, passed away after a 10-day hospital stay. On the DAISY nomination form, the wife wrote, “Jesus wanted him and my husband went to the arms of our Lord. An asset to the hospital.”
