Kristen did not even hesitate and left Mom supplies at the front desk. The mother called me back and she was happy to report she now had all the supplies you could need.
A 10-month old baby who came into my office with an imperforated anus and she has a colostomy. She came in with a zip lock bag taped to her ostomy due to her supplies not being shipped yet. She is followed at another St. Louis children’s hospital. I called their office and the nurse was not helpful and she said she could not and would not give her extra supplies unless she got prior approval (it was already 2:30pm) and could not guarantee that it would be approved. I called Kristen and she gave me a couple of names of people to try at DePaul-both the wound nurse and a company rep were unable to help me.
I called Kristen back to ask if there was any way if we sent Mom by a Lift to Cardinal Glennon and then home, would she be able to get Mom a couple bags to protect her ostomy (and the surrounding skin) until they received their shipment. Kristen did not even hesitate and left Mom supplies at the front desk. The mother called me back and she was happy to report she now had all the supplies you could need. This exemplifies the mission of Cardinal Glennon helping a patient who is not even followed there without questions or hesitation.
