Kadesha was walking by a patient's room and happened to look over to glance at a patient who was not hers. This patient looked unstable, and Kadesha immediately went over to assess the patient since the patient was blue in color. She immediately initiated a code blue and called for help. CPR was started right away by Kadesha. This was Kadesha’s first code-blue situation. She went above and beyond by recognizing this patient did not look stable and acted on it even though this was not her “assigned patient.” If Kadesha hadn’t taken the extra step to look over into that patient’s room, the patient could have possibly had a different outcome.

But it truly is not just this event that Kadesha should be recognized for. Kadesha always comes to work with a positive attitude, even when she is presented with challenges. She always seeks out help with questions she may have and is willing to lend a helping hand to her colleagues even if she is busy herself. She is able to adapt and assist the team in more ways than recognized, and her dedication to nursing and the unwavering care she provides our patients is beyond appreciated.
