Chelsea and Gabby are not your ordinary nurses, they went beyond and they deserve so much.
My brother (22) was in a drastic car accident and was brought to the burn unit at St. Mary's Hospital. He remained there for around a week. My family was in a place that we had never experienced before, we had a feeling of helplessness, and then we met Chelsea and Gabby. I cannot express enough how much they did for my brother and my family. In the little time we were there, we made a connection that will last forever. My brother had longer hair and one day specifically we showed a clip of him. In the video, my brother had his hair in a bun. The next day we came into my brother's room, and Chelsea had put his hair up in a bun like he had in the video. This was just one of the small gestures that Chelsea made but had such a huge impact on my family and me. It was the first time we smiled since getting the terrible news. As the week went on, we shared more stories with them and they asked more about him. On the second to last day, Chelsea and Gabby came in to tell us goodbye and gave us their condolences, thoughts, and prayers. They told us they would not see us on our last day since they were not scheduled, but when we walked into my brother's room on his last day, Chelsea and Gabby were there. They told us they couldn’t stay away and my brother and our family were all they could think about. They held out hands in the operating room and comforted us through the process. Chelsea and Gabby are not your ordinary nurses, they went beyond and they deserve so much. I really hope you will consider them for this award, for no one else is more deserving.
