She listened to us express our concerns and feelings of hopelessness. She cared about us, wanted to get to know us, and was funny and upbeat. She brings us hope!
My husband, S, came to Nason Wound Clinic after 3 years of various attempts to resolve skin cancer, radiation damage, and osteomyelitis which eventually led to the amputation of 2 toes. We were discouraged and emotionally and financially drained. During our first few visits to the Nason Wound Clinic, we had pleasant, skilled, and professional treatment, but we left discouraged and overwhelmed by all the new treatments and frequency of visits with no light at the end of the tunnel.

Then Amy Frye entered the room with a smile and personality that totally embraced us. She listened to us express our concerns and feelings of hopelessness. She explained everything that had been done so far and the reason for the need to change treatments so often in wound care. She cared about us, wanted to get to know us, and was funny and upbeat. She brings us hope! Each time we come to the wound clinic, we pray we get Amy as our nurse. She always greets us in the waiting room with a smile and a joyful "Come on down" invitation. She is like a breath of sunshine when she comes into the room, and you know she really does care.

My husband recently had to have a wound vac, which is overwhelming and difficult to manage. Amy relieved our anxiety by explaining everything and making sure we are comfortable and knew what to expect at home. She made sure we knew how to troubleshoot if we had a problem. Amy remembers just how S likes to have his dressing wrapped and makes sure I know exactly what to do when I change the dressing at home.

We still have a long way to go in getting completely healed, but with Amy's support, we will make it to the end. She shines the light so we can at least see the end of the tunnel. We can't express enough how much we love and appreciate Amy and are so grateful for her support and empathy for us.
