My husband was a patient here many times this year. He was admitted here in Jan, Feb, May, June, Oct, and now again in Nov. Every visit has been for wounds, infections, surgery, and testing. My husband was diagnosed with a very rare condition called Pyoderma Gangrenosum for the 1st nine months, the doctors were treating him as having diabetic foot ulcers and couldn’t tell us why they were so aggressive. So you can imagine it had been a rough year when our journey at North Vista began. My husband’s wounds and infections were so bad he started losing toes one at a time, and then they had to do a BKA. Meanwhile, he’s consistently getting more and more ulcers when they finally diagnosed him as having Pyoderma, he’d lost all his toes and his left foot. Through it all we had Jeri she was his wound care nurse and what a difference she made, she took the time to explain what Pyoderma was, how it differed from diabetic foot ulcers and what steps we could take to prevent them. She was patient, kind and knowledgeable. She always seemed to know when things were getting too overwhelming and took the extra time to sit and chat about how things were going. She always had a way of making me feel that no matter how bad things seemed it was all going to be ok. I truly wish there were more nurses like Jeri. I tell anyone who will listen that N. Vista has the best wound care, bar none, in all of Vegas. In our journey of hospitalizations over the past 21 months, we’ve found our home here at N. Vista Hospital. Thank you so much, Jeri, for your hard work, caring nature, and dedication. You are truly amazing!
