Tom exemplifies the qualities of an outstanding nursing administrator, his dedication and achievements making him an ideal candidate for this prestigious accolade.

Tom’s standout skill is handling complex situations with precision. His innate ability to prioritize patient care and staff well-being is evident in critical decisions he makes. His innovative problem-solving has notably boosted our department's efficiency and patient outcomes. For instance, under his leadership, the Senior Surgical Care Program's (SSCP) rollout, a challenging endeavor, was met with inventive solutions. Tom played a crucial role in the program's success by facilitating hiring, training 13 coordinators, and securing ACS verification for 4 of our hospitals, a remarkable 50% of the nation’s geriatric verified hospitals and 100% of verified hospitals in California.

Throughout his tenure as Regional Surgical Outcomes Manager, Tom has shown unwavering dedication and remarkable leadership. He fosters unity and purpose among colleagues, leading by example with an unmatched work ethic and passion for nursing excellence. Despite increased responsibilities, including overseeing 3 SSCP nurse mentors, 13 SSCP coordinators, and 15 NSQIP abstractors, Tom's commitment remains steadfast.
