What was most impressive to me was that Ritz had a passion for the professionalism of nursing.
My husband, R, was admitted to your ICU department. He was diagnosed with Supra Epiglottis.

He wasn’t able to swallow, hadn’t eaten or drank any fluids for over two days, and had a horrible productive cough, which kept him from sleeping. That’s important because, 45 years prior, R was hospitalized for 5 to 7 days for a similar treatment of epiglottis (without intubation). During this last admission, the attending physician discussed the probability that intubation under sedation was imminent. My husband was very, very anxious.

Ritz was our admission nurse. She projected a very calm and professional manner as she reassured R by answering all of his 100 questions.

What was most impressive to me was that Ritz had a passion for the professionalism of nursing. You could feel her enthusiasm and confidence.
