My mom was bleeding internally, and her BP dropped rapidly.  It was Stacey's quick actions that brought her back from the brink.  The whole time, she was compassionate, caring, understanding, and so patient.
I would like to nominate Stacey Faria on the night shift in CCU.  My mother was brought to the CCU after a AAA repair with renal stent placement.  As the night went on her condition deteriorated rapidly.  Stacey was amazing!  She rushed to action, calling doctors, taking blood, giving her meds, and doing everything possible to help stabilize my mother.  I know she saved her life.  She was bleeding internally, and her BP dropped rapidly.  It was Stacey's quick actions that brought her back from the brink.  The whole time, she was compassionate, caring, understanding, and so patient.  I am an RN myself and I can honestly say that THIS nurse went above and beyond - all the while doing it with a kind smile.  She really worked her butt off and I don't know when she could have taken any time for herself because when she wasn't in the room checking pedal pulses, giving meds, hanging blood, etc.  She was with her other patients or just poking herself in to make sure my mom's condition stabilized.  Stacey is a true treasure, and I will be forever grateful for her fast action, skill, and compassion.  Riverview is LUCKY to have her!

When I came in the morning after Stacey saved her patient's life, she was sitting and charting diligently. Her patient on the past shift had come to the floor bleeding and deteriorating. The amount of work that goes into this care for this patient is not truly understood by every person. She had to give 5 units of PRBC, IV Fluid bolus, lab work and additional blood products. Continual assessments are required and the interventions to those assessments require multiple phone calls and follow up. Stacey worked tirelessly, advocating and reporting, with professionalism and urgency. As I rounded on the patient and her daughter, she spoke of how Stacey saved her mother's life, how she was her angel last night. It was not just the work that went into saving her life, or the fact that she had another patient, it was the way in which she described how she cared for her mother. Despite all that was going on and as critical as it was, Stacey's compassion, demeanor, and kindness never wavered. She was calm and reassuring, there was no ask too big or question that was dismissed or not answered. She truly was an amazing nurse. I want to congratulate Stacy on being a fantastic ICU nurse, and saving multiple lives, not just this one. She is an asset to our team and our patients. She is the embodiment of a DAISY Nurse.
