My husband was admitted to the hospital, and then to Cardiology after having chest pains and an irregular stress test. When we got up to the cardiology floor, Shannon came right in and introduced herself. She had a great energy and spirit. My husband hates hospitals and has some PTSD of hospitals from when he was in ICU with COVID for 11 days and was not doing well. He expressed to Shannon that he was worried and didn't like hospitals and his concerns. Shannon jumped right in to ease his mind. Her kindness and spirit really made the not-so-pleasant experience, pleasant. She has a great, infectious personality and was also on top of anything we asked of her. On top of how she cared for my husband, there was a patient in the room next door who was very loud and very needy. Although I became annoyed with that patient literally screaming for Shannon, she would go in there each time with a great attitude. I could hear her positive "fix it" attitude as she helped and took care of her patients. Shannon embodies what I think a nurse should be and other nurses could really learn a lot from her!
