Wow! From the moment she stepped into the room, I could see Mrs Korb assessing me with her eyes. She was constantly stopping the reporting off nurse to write down everything on her report and on the board. She asked the nurse and me many questions, the same with my neighbor patient and told us very politely she would be our nurse and said if we needed anything, just call as she is taking report on her other patients and would return. When she did, she completed a full head to toe, flushed IV’s, dated them, checked for all pulses, auscultated heart, lungs, bowel sounds, pulled up gowns and visually assessed and felt for tenderness and distension. Now I have been a nurse for over 20 years, and I have not gone back to my years of schooling. Well, Mrs. Korb took me there. She has excellent leadership skills, is very polite, caring, and sweet spoken. Tampa General Hospital, you have a JEWEL who needs to be recognized. She shines bright like a DIAMOND! Kudos to you Mrs. Korb for being exceptional. She is very deserving for her extraordinary detail and compassion. She was selfless with her med cart and prepping every patient. She deserves this DAISY Award.
