I spent a month at St. Dominic’s Hospital in the Labor and Delivery unit when my water broke at 26 weeks gestation. Meri Kathryn took care of me many times during my stay. She was incredibly knowledgeable about her work, and I always felt so much better and at peace after she explained to me what was happening or why we were doing things a certain way. If she wasn’t on my care team on a certain day, she would always make time to check in on me and make sure I was doing well from both a medical and a mental aspect as well. I felt like with her I had someone in my corner advocating for me as both my caretaker and my friend. I really don’t think I could have gotten through the entire month in there without her compassion and kindness, and I’m so glad it was her there with me when it came time to deliver. She helped bring such guidance and peace to me during a difficult journey.
