We have not experienced such attentive service from someone like JC for a long time. We could tell he was a kind soul, enthusiastic in his job, with a good spirit and love of people. He moved fast following kidney transplant surgery in the room. Keeping the machines rolling with bags of fluids, adjusting bedding, knowing what to tend to, checking the urine output bag at critical times, asking how my husband was feeling, checking on the whole care of the patient, asking about pain levels, having answers for nausea symptoms coming out of anesthesia, and having enthusiasm and a positive attitude the whole time. In the evening, I decided to stay overnight with my husband, JC quickly put in an order for a portable cot which he accessed, set up and got ready. He let us know there was no problem in preparing for the night. He reminded me a little of Santa: "Spoke not a word, but went straight to his work." It is truly a blessing to be on this floor, working with patients who need reassurance that he will do his best to make my husband's stay less stressful. He was highly knowledgeable, friendly, and caring. Truly a gem in the golden crown at UofM - Fairview, JC deserves special recognition. The medical field runs in his family, he has truly learned excellent bedside manners and techniques from the best. If he could be duplicated, you'd have a goldmine. We will forever be thankful we met him and had him for our shift to help my husband get through the early hours of fighting pain following surgery and launching him into healing. Thank you, JC!
