I’m a 69-year-old retired electrical engineer who worked for the Department of Defense for 32 years. I helped to design military aircraft and associated training systems for military personnel. I worked with and led many multi-faceted teams whose knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) varied from mediocre to outstanding. I say all this to suggest that I am a good judge of character, work ethic, and exceptional KSAs. And, while I would be honored to shower praise on so many of the outstanding nurses working at Bethesda North, I must offer exceptional praise to Olivia.

Even at her young age and only having been a nurse since May 2023, Olivia exemplified all of the characteristics and KSAs of a seasoned RN veteran with at least 10 years of experience. Olivia’s dynamic personality displayed a wide range of traits, ranging from her various assigned duties to her ability to rapidly navigate the EPIC software system, provide instruction and assistance to other nurses, and display exceptional memory of all her assigned patient-specific conditions, needs, and care. She exuded professionalism at all times while maintaining a very personable connection with her patients and team members. Olivia’s level of attentiveness and pleasant demeanor with her patients was no less than exemplary. It is my hope that this write-up will be one of many acts of appreciation and incentive throughout her career that will let Olivia know that she is a nurse’s nurse now and is an invaluable member of the Bethesda North team.
