Compassionate care is exactly how I would describe what she exemplified in taking care of me during my week stay. There are several ways she did this. She always made sure my IV was running during her time on duty, brought me water and ice when I asked for it or made sure I had it even if I didn’t. She was always smiling and asking me if I needed anything, if there was something we couldn’t have, she would always tell us and explain why. She is a great nurse that I will never forget and a great example of what a role model should be like. The day I was released, she checked to make sure I could remove my heart monitor because I wanted to do it while I was waiting on paperwork. Afterward, she removed my IV lines from my arm, grabbed a wheelchair, and rolled me to get in my truck, where my wife was picking me up. She went above the call of duty.

I worked in customer service for several years, and I learned about how customers should be treated; this nurse was a prime example. She showed me so much compassion. My wife and I had to hug her before being released. If anyone deserves the DAISY Award, Tanada does, she did a great job.
