My son was brought to TG; car vs. pole pole won! The nurse was on top of my son’s care, letting us know every step of what he was doing, the care and compassion he had for his patient goes beyond the explanation of a nurse. He was soft, kind, and truthful; we didn’t expect my son to live. Not much hope was given by the Neurologist, and his nurse encouraged us to keep talking to him; he brought chairs and blankets and offered drinks and support beyond belief. To some he is a nurse just isn’t enough! He is the nurse of the year! His nurse helped us to understand the care my son would need and always encouraged a positive outlook even when no one else gave hope. His nurse talked to my son as if he knew him, treated him like one of his own. My sons have 4 siblings, 13 nieces and nephews, and by saying keep calm, quiet visits, 10 minutes, then when there were fewer, he would always update me so I could update everyone. When he was no longer my son’s nurse, he would still stop and say hi. The nurse helped us advocate for our son's follow-up care and assured us the next place my son was going would take great care of him! We spent three weeks in the ICU, and every time we felt scared or unsure, we found the nurse, the man with such a great heart! Thank you for being such a great human! You are an angel to us, and we are very grateful!
