She helped put my and my mother's minds at ease through her kindness and compassion. I could never say enough nice things about her!
Compassion - she treats us like friends rather than patients. Like we’ve known each other.
Accountability - she takes responsibility even for things that happened beyond her control and did everything to help our situation.
Respect - not only respectful, but she treated us as equals. I’m a caretaker for my mom, who is disabled, so I’m used to doing a lot for her. Some nurses wouldn’t let me help but Erin let me step in with things she knew I was able to assist my mother with.

My mom was admitted to an ICU in Delaware while we were on vacation, and we are from out of state. Erin was our night shift nurse and, from day one, treated us so well. By the second night, she came in like an old friend, and handled all of my concerns, from medications to blood work, all the big things and little things. She immediately helps in any way she can. I’m a caretaker for my mother, and she respects that I am the one who does things for her and lets me step in within reason to help. Some nurses are there to do their job and leave, they have a “seen this everyday” attitude. This is not an everyday thing for us, and it was very scary. She helped put my and my mother's minds at ease through her kindness and compassion. I could never say enough nice things about her! I came across a board with information on the DAISY Award - something I had never even heard of - and as soon as I saw it, I knew I had to nominate her. She goes above and beyond, and you can tell she loves what she does.
