I have known Travis for 3 years here at CapMC. Travis became the Director of the CV labs when Pulse assumed responsibility for them. His leadership is exemplary; through very difficult circumstances in the last 2 years, he has managed to grow his staff and encourage them to take ownership of service line roles, and he has fostered a sense of community that is desperately needed in these challenging times for the system. He does all of that for the Pulse labs and still looks for opportunities to provide clinical care when possible. (Given the opportunity, he would rather be taking care of a patient!)

As a surgeon here at CapMC I have relied on him multiple times to help solve problems. Whether the solutions involve creative staffing solutions or setting up a new service line, Travis is always excited about a new challenge. His ability to align present circumstances with future goals and help his staff and coworkers see the through-line from "where we're at" to "where we're going" is outstanding. I cannot recommend him highly enough for a Nurse Leadership award.
