Morgan wasn’t actually my daughter’s assigned nurse when we first met. She was helping my daughter while our nurse was on break and I had just finished listening to the doctors during their rounds and had gotten visibly emotional when I came back to her bedside. Morgan offered so much compassion, sat next to me, and asked if I needed a hug. She was there to help my daughter but she really helped me. She asked me if I wanted to hold my daughter which I hadn’t gotten to do since her surgery. It wasn't easy with all of the wires, but she made it happen and kept checking in on me, even with patients of her own. She was then officially my nurse the next day and was so informative to me. She explained everything all over again to my husband when he was able to join. Her knowledge of pediatric care - but especially cardiac care - and her ability to empathize with me on a human level was something I’ll never forget. She made such a low moment in my daughter’s recovery something that I will always remember in the best way. Thank you, Morgan!
