Jennifer became my advocate and reached out to several of her supervisors with 3 of them coming to my room to listen to me and see what could be done to ensure I was transferred on Wednesday.
I am 56 years old and haven’t spent a single night in a hospital during my adult life. Last Friday I left Greer Memorial after a 9-day stay for diverticulitis with an abscess on my liver. I was cared for by many skilled and wonderful nurses while there. What set Jennifer apart was her energy and enthusiasm. From the minute she walked in the door, she was very attentive to my needs and answered any questions my wife or I had. She also cleaned up the room, put fresh sheets on the bed, and made sure I had everything I needed to shower.

We had been waiting for a transfer to Greenville Memorial for a liver drain procedure and had been delayed multiple times. On Tuesday, we saw 2 dates for transfer and my concern was that this procedure would be pushed to Friday. The abscess had already doubled in size over 4 days. I was very upset by another possible delay. Jennifer became my advocate and reached out to several of her supervisors with 3 of them coming to my room to listen to me and see what could be done to ensure I was transferred on Wednesday. I was very impressed with their ability to recognize the issues and put a plan into place. She followed up with transportation to make sure I was scheduled for early the next morning. She checked on me and made me feel comfortable until her shift ended. Her professionalism and caring attitude are a winning combination.
