This is not just a good nurse - this nurse is an incredible nurse. Bryce is deeply respected and admired by those in our unit - not just because of who he is, but also because of what he does. This nurse actively models what it looks like to have compassion, integrity, and respect for our patients. I have worked with Bryce for over 3 years now, and though he works dayshift and I work nightshift, receiving patients from him and giving him patients is always reassuring because he practices with clinical excellence and great care.

It is astounding how well Bryce advocates for his patients, and how much progress patients make in 12 hours when they are under his care. From sitting with the sweet grandma for over an hour, helping her remove, clean, and replace her dentures because that was important to her, to advocating for appropriate escalation of care during rounds, to engaging with family members with sincerity, to helping, guiding, and giving input to newer nurses, this nurse has had an impact on us all. Bryce is trustworthy, humble, genuine, and always keeps the patient at the center of his work.

You know that Bryce has cared for a patient before you even enter the room. He cares for the while person/patient and works hard each shift to protect their dignity by shaving faces, washing long, tangled hair, positioning them comfortably, and keeping his rooms strikingly clean (a signature trait of his!). He has been a nurse for almost a decade, yet his unwavering commitment to his patients is still as evident today as when I met him three years ago.

This nurse is a joy to work with and an amazing teammate. He is the nurse that many of us aspire to be one day, and he operates above and beyond the call of duty. This nurse is an incredible example to us all of what it looks like to practice with clinical excellence and great care toward patients!
