Amanda was there to comfort me the saddest day of my life. She constantly came in to check on me.
I met Amanda in October when I was in the hospital. I was hospitalized twice more in November. I live in Indiana and was transported by ambulance to Toledo, where I received my kidney transplant back in June. Being two hours away from my home and family was hard for me. My family just couldn't hop in a car and be there. Amanda knew this, so she would always come into my room and let me know she was there for me. She is always so kind and answered any questions I had with a smile on her face. She's the most patient nurse I've ever met. In November, I lost my mom. On the day of her funeral, I was extremely sick and was again transported from Indiana to Ohio by ambulance, missing my mother's funeral. Amanda was there to comfort me the saddest day of my life. She constantly came in to check on me. She would even come in to see me and say goodbye at the end of her shift to let me know when she would be back. Sometimes, she would stay and talk to me and encourage me when she should have been on her way home after a shift. She loves her job, and she shows it through her loving kindness and caring about her patients. She was truly a blessing to me.
