The ICU recently had a patient who was homeless, living in his car with his beloved senior dog. Unfortunately, the patient was going to have to spend some time in the hospital and was distraught as he did not know what he would do with his dog or how the dog would be taken care of. With the patient’s permission and through the kindness of her heart, Michelle brought the dog to her house and cared for it like it was one of her own.

After the patient was discharged from the hospital and obtained an apartment, Michelle provided multiple bags of dog food, snacks, and toys to the patient for his dog. The patient was extremely thankful to Michelle not only for taking care of his dog but also for being able to get the medical treatment he needed. Michelle is a true DAISY Nurse as she went above and beyond to help this patient and his dog in their time of need!
