Jess made sure that R was all cozy and safe in her tiny cold cot so mummy and daddy could spend precious time with R and create memories with our little family.
I would like to nominate Jess; if it wasn’t for her care and compassion, I truly don’t know what I would have done. Jess brought my beautiful sleeping baby girl R into the world on the. Jess went truly above and beyond for our little family. She made sure both my fiancé L and I were cared for in every way and was so compassionate. We had brought some clothes with us to dress our baby girl in, but sadly, they were just a little too big for her precious body. Jess managed to find a few small Baby Grows, and she found one for R. It said "Tiny Little Miracle," and it was perfect as she is our tiny little miracle.
Jess also found a tiny blue hat and blanket for her so that she could match her mummy, as I have blue hair, which means the world to me. Jess took loads of photos of R for us and printed them, which was so wonderful to have actual photos to hold in your hand rather than just digital copies. (She did give us a memory card with all of them on as well). Jess made sure that R was all cozy and safe in her tiny cold cot so mummy and daddy could spend precious time with R and create memories with our little family. Jess also gave us a memory box which was so beautiful. There are so many lovely items inside, like two bears. We left one with R to keep her safe, and we have the other one; there was a silver keyring with a tiny little heart cut out; we placed the heart in her tiny hand, and we kept the keyring. It was those tiny moments, those little memories that meant everything to us, as that day/night will always be the most precious moments of my life, and if it wasn’t for Jess, I really don’t think it would have been as special! She really did go out of her way to make this time so very precious and made every second matter, and thanks to her, we will keep those memories and moments with us forever.
We were given all the time that we wanted and needed with R and were never forced away. Everyone on the Rosemary Suite that day was really amazing, but I truly think Jess is a DAISY Nurse. She even went out of her way to meet us at a later date. At R's funeral, we set up a collection plate for donations towards the Rosemary Suite. We went out and bought a load of soft furnishings, toothbrushes, shower items, a lightbox for the rooms, and a few other things so that other mums could feel as comfortable as possible.
K was so kind to help us with this, and she actually got a lovely little plaque made in R’s memory to be placed on the Suite ward door. But the main thing was she had asked Jess if she could meet with us when we dropped all of these items off. Jess actually came in so she could meet with us so we could show her how much everything she had done meant to us. She really didn’t have to do that and meet us I can imagine that shifts are long enough, I really appreciated her time. Jess really is a wonderful woman, and as soon as I found out about this amazing award, she was the first person that came to my mind to nominate. She really is such a beautiful person and really couldn’t be any more perfect for this award. The help, time, care, and compassion that she gives to all these amazing mums and babies is one of the most wonderful things in life, and she should be so proud of everything she does and everything she is. Jess really goes that extra mile to make it a beautiful memory.
