My dad was in the ACU on two different occasions over a 2-week period. From the first time my dad met David, he was down to earth, easy to talk to, and informative about what was going to take place. Soon after my dad met David, other family members were also fortunate enough to meet him. My dad was having heart issues, and we were all understandably stressed and anxious about his procedures. Every time David popped into the room, he was a calming presence, had a smile on his face, and was genuinely concerned for my dad's well-being. He answered questions until we had no more. He helped my dad with anything he needed while he was waiting for his procedures. He joked around with us and told us about his own personal life while asking questions about ours, all outside of the medical issues my dad was having. It was such a nice distraction, and the conversations flowed as if we were all old friends.

During the short time my dad was in the ACU, we felt a friendship with David, and that was so important during such a stressful time. David showed us that he is a human being just like the rest of us. We weren't sad to have my dad leave the hospital, but we were sad that we wouldn't get to have conversations with David anymore. He was such a blessing during my dad's stay, and we can't say enough good things about that man. Please let him know what a difference he makes in his patients' lives. He is a skilled and talented nurse who goes above and beyond his medical duties.
